Hampden-Sydney (HSC)| What: | U. of Blue Tour is a pulse-pounding, music-driven carnival of fishing and adventure. Adrenaline is supplied by adventure girl Cindy Garrison, host of ESPN2’s “Get Wild.” The tunes come courtesy of Sony/BMG and two amazing bands: Cole Deggs & The Lonesome and Crystal Shawanda. Come for some food and free Tour t-shirts, and stay for our “Gear Bash,” when we give away tons of great stuff from sunglasses and watches to kayaks. Test your angling skills in our Casting Contest. Take the stage and rock the crowd in our Guitar Hero Showdown. As much as the Tour is about raising your pulse, it’s also about raising money and awareness for an issue that’s important to everyone: protecting the environment. So we’ll pass around our “bait bucket,” with all donations going to “Save The Wild." |

The KA House opened its doors wide for the U. of Blue Tour at Hampden-Sydney College. On Friday night, the “party bunker” was rocking, and students without invitations were begging friends to get them in. Those who did get in got to see Cole Deggs & the Lonesome play an “unplugged” set and Cindy feed all sorts of strange bugs to students. (For a free pair of Costas, of course.) After the party, a bonfire at the Airstream set the stage for a little cow-tipping and the hilarious “Shade Show” courtesy of Shade Deggs. On Saturday night, the Tiger Inn was packed, both indoors and out. Everyone had their sunglasses on as Crystal Shawanda and her band set the place on fire. The party continued as Cindy passed out free surfboards, kayaks and Costas. Can’t wait for our next trip to Hampden-Sydney. |
