Georgia Tech (GT)| What: | U. of Blue Tour is a pulse-pounding, music-driven carnival of fishing and adventure. Adrenaline is supplied by adventure girl Cindy Garrison, host of ESPN2’s “Get Wild.” The tunes come courtesy of Sony/BMG and two amazing bands: Cole Deggs & The Lonesome and Crystal Shawanda. Come for some free food and free Tour t-shirts, and stay for our “Gear Bash,” when we give away tons of great stuff from sunglasses and watches to kayaks. Test your angling skills in our Casting Contest. Take the stage and rock the crowd in our Guitar Hero Showdown. As much as the Tour is about raising your pulse, it’s also about raising money and awareness for an issue that’s important to everyone: protecting the environment. So we’ll pass around our “bait bucket,” with all donations going to “Save The Wild." |

Truckloads of sand were brought in to create a beach. Musicians Crystal Shawanda and Cole Deggs & the Lonesome provided the music. Cindy, the Georgia Tech SAEs and their friends supplied the energy for what turned out to be the biggest stop on the whole 2007 Tour. “This is going to be the party of the year,” said one student. On Friday night, Cindy fed bugs to willing Jackets for a free pair of Costas. One student was lucky enough to win a fly-fishing trip Saturday morning complements of Unicoi Outfitters. And ESPN’s show “Wanna Go Fishing” even picked a lucky fan out of the crowd to go on the fishing trip of a lifetime. More than 1600 guests partied with us Saturday night, and if they can remember it, we’re pretty sure none of them will ever forget it. |
