Louisiana State U. (LSU)| What: | U. of Blue Tour is a pulse-pounding, music-driven carnival of fishing and adventure. Adrenaline is supplied by adventure girl Cindy Garrison, host of ESPN2’s “Get Wild.” The tunes come courtesy of Sony/BMG and two amazing bands: Cole Deggs & The Lonesome and Crystal Shawanda. Come for some free crawfish and free Tour t-shirts, and stay for our “Gear Bash,” when we give away tons of great stuff from sunglasses and watches to kayaks. As much as the Tour is about raising your pulse, it’s also about raising money and awareness for an issue that’s important to everyone: protecting the environment. So we’ll pass around our “bait bucket,” with all donations going to “Save The Wild." |

As we found out, Baton Rouge is home to two things: LSU and a huge crowd of rowdy Costa Del Mar fans. Our stop there began with a Friday night party at the Roux House. The house was full of energy as CIndy and Cole Deggs brought the entertainment. Saturday was pure bayou adventure. First, the gang went fishing on the Atchafalaya Basin. Later that night, legendary LSU hangout Fred’s was the place to be. It started with a classic Cajun-country crawfish boil, and continued as rabid students ate up pair after pair of free Costas, and plenty of hard-driving music. All we can say is, “Geaux Tigers!” |
